Malia Beach lies on Crete’s northern shoreline, approximately 35 kilometres east of Heraklion. Sand and blue sea create an appealing setting for swimming and relaxing, while the nearby resort brings a lively atmosphere to the coast.

The little island of Afentis Christos and its chapel add a distinctive landmark just offshore. Sunbeds, umbrellas and water sports make the main beach a convenient place to spend the day, with nearby beach bars offering drinks and a break from the sun.

To the east, Potamos Beach provides another sandy shore close to the Minoan Palace of Malia. A visit here can combine a few hours beside the water with an exploration of the ancient ruins, bringing beach life and local history together.
