Chelidoni Beach is a small cove near Heraklion, hidden beneath the cliffs by Palaiokastro. A wooden stairway leads to its narrow shore, where smooth pebbles, pockets of sand and large rocks surround the water.

The sea is strikingly clear, with blue and green tones that make swimming especially inviting. Because the cove faces east, the water is often calm. The rocks at either end also make it an appealing place to explore with a mask.

A handful of umbrellas and sunbeds, plus a small canteen, make it easy to spend a few hours here. Chelidoni is ideal for a relaxed swim and a quiet pause beside the sea.
